Learn more about this agency Responsibilities As an Administrative Support Specialist at the GS-0301-9/11/12, some of your typical work assignments may include: Ensures accountable property is issued according to policies and procedures, and returned upon the departure of employee to whom it was assigned to. Coordinates travel plans, airline reservations, lodging accommodations, rental cars and other travel-related needs between travel agencies and Office of Disaster Assistance (ODA) for employees traveling to assist with disaster operations/activity. Reviews and audits travel vouchers for accuracy, completeness, and adherence to Federal Travel Regulations (FTR), agency policies and other applicable guidelines; submits vouches timely for payment. Managing the issuance, use, and deactivation of employee government travel credit cards, including auditing/reviewing credit card accounts for possible abuse. Implements and monitors polices and procedures for acquiring supplies and services for all ODA Centers. Audits and reconciles requested travel services with billing accounts. Works with senior management to research and detect possible abuse of employee travel credit card. Reconciles and resolves employee payroll issues. Educates staff on correct procedures for submitting employee time and overtime requests as needed. ASC is located in the business area of Herndon, VA. Favorable background investigation and credit check are required. Mandatory Overtime: In order to respond quickly and efficiently to disaster survivors, substantial compensated overtime hours may be required while on assignment (up to seven days a week and ten to fourteen hours a day). Credit score must be at least 500. Qualifications Generally, time in Non-Pay status is not creditable towards the specialized experience requirement listed below. You must meet all qualification requirements by the closing date of this announcement. You may qualify based on experience, education or a combination of both. Experience: To receive credit, you must indicate the month and year as well as the average hours worked per week for each employer or that experience will not be credited for meeting the specialized experience requirement. GS-09: To qualify you must have a least 1 full year of specialized experience equivalent in difficult and complexity to the GS-07 level in the Federal service that has equipped you with the particular knowledge, skill, and ability to perform successfully in this position. This experience may have been gained in a non-Federal service position. This specialized experience must include providing administrative services for an office or organization such as time and attendance, making travel arrangements, reviewing travel vouchers, procurement, and maintaining/tracking accountable property, etc. GS-11: To qualify you must have a least 1 full year of specialized experience equivalent in difficult and complexity to the GS-09 level in the Federal service that has equipped you with the particular knowledge, skill, and ability to perform successfully in this position. This experience may have been gained in a non-Federal service position. This specialized experience must include providing 2 or more of the following administrative services for an office or organization: time and attendance, making travel arrangements, reviewing travel vouchers, procurement, maintaining/tracking accountable property. GS-12: To qualify you must have a least 1 full year of specialized experience equivalent in difficult and complexity to the GS-11 level in the Federal service that has equipped you with the particular knowledge, skill, and ability to perform successfully in this position. This experience may have been gained in a non-Federal service position. This specialized experience must include providing 3 or more of the following administrative services for an office or organization: time and attendance, making travel arrangements, reviewing travel vouchers, procurement, maintaining/tracking accountable property. OR Education If qualifying based on education, you must submit transcripts by the closing date of this announcement or you will not be found eligible. GS-09: Must have a master's or equivalent graduate degree in a related field, or 2 full years of related progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree, from an accredited college or university. GS-11: Must have a doctorate or equivalent graduate degree in a related field, or 3 full years of related progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree, from an accredited college or university. GS-12: There are no educational substitutions for this series and grade. OR A combination of experience and education as indicated above.
